Some cats will meow just to say hi, and it’s kind of the best thing. You walk into a room and they greet you right away like they’ve been waiting. Not loud or demanding, just a quick little hello to let you know they noticed you. They’ll look right at you and give a small meow like they’re checking in. It’s a nice little habit that makes coming home better.

Some cats will absolutely yell at you until you listen. Not a gentle meow, full volume, no breaks, just standing there making sure you hear them. You try to ignore it and they just keep going like they’ve got a point to prove. It’s not even about what they want half the time, it’s about being heard. Eventually you give in, and they act like that was the plan all along.

Kitten meows are tiny but somehow impossible to ignore. More of a squeak than a full meow, but they use it like it matters a lot. They’ll sit there and keep going until you look at them, like they’re making a very strong point. It’s such a small sound but it gets attention instantly. One little meow and you’re already turning your head to see what they want.
